Responsibility of the Hirer/Customer/Participants
  • a) All participants must:
    – Be 8 years of age or over to participate in any activity that the centre offers
    – Be 1.2m or above in height for Wake Park activities
    – Have some water confidence
    – Have a reasonable level of fitness is required to take part in any physical activity, please consult your GP if you have any concerns
    – Adhere to all instructions given by the Centre staff at all times
  • b) All participants under 18 year olds must provide a parental/guardian consent form prior to a pre-booked instructor lead activity/course.  This must be handed to the session instructor prior to the commencement of the activity/course.
  • c) It is the responsibility of the person making the booking that all participants have read and understood the following information:

  1. d) Participants and members of their party are required to have consideration for others at the Centre. If, in the reasonable opinion of centre staff, a person acts in such a way as to cause, or be likely to cause, danger, upset or distress to any other customer or member of staff, or is thought to be under influence of alcohol and/or drugs, they shall be asked to leave the Centre immediately. The Centre will not pay any refunds, expenses or costs as a result.
Cancellation by Hirer / Customer
  1. a) If a hirer/customer cancels, does not attend or postpones 1 or 2 bookings, less then 7 days in advance, the full fee will be charged and no refunds will be given,
  2. b) If a hirer/customer cancels, does not attend  or postpones 3 or more bookings, less then 30 days in advance, the full fee will be charged and no refunds will be given,
  3. c) If a class booking is cancelled less then 2 hours in advance or a participant does not show, the full fee will be charged and no refund will be made.
  4. d) If a canoe/sailing/climbing club booking is cancelled less than 8 hours in advance, then the booking may be transferred, but no refund will be made.  If the customer does not cancel the booking and does not show, then the booking will not be transferred or refunded.
  5. e) Wake Park Free rides and Holiday Activity Courses are considered as bookings, rather than as classes, for cancellation purposes.  Wake Park Direct Debit members may give 24 hours notice.
Cancellation by Helly Hansen Watersports Centre
  1. a) The Helly Hansen Watersports Centre reserves the right to suspend or cancel a session/course/activity at any time in the event of an activity being unsafe to operate.  This may be due to adverse weather conditions, environment agency advice and equipment failure, or any adverse event, act, omission or accident which happens which is beyond our reasonable control including, but not limited to flood, earthquake, natural disasters, other acts of god, acts of terrorism, interruption or fire or failure of electric power, gas, water or other utility service, plant machinery, computers, vehicles or any collapse of building structures.
  2. b) The Helly Hansen Watersports Centre will refund fully, if we cancel your booking, or offer an alternative booking, but is not responsible for any other costs howsoever incurred by the person making the booking or any other individuals.
